"2016 hat das Institut für Österreichische Geschichtsforschung erstmals die Archivwissenschaft als Ausgangspunkt seiner internationalen Jahrestagung bestimmt. Der Tagungsband versammelt achtzehn Beiträge zu vier Themenbereichen: "Kategorisierung - Neue Quellenkunde im Archiv", "Überlieferungsbildung und Bewertung", "Informationsaufbereitung und Vermittlung" sowie "das Archiv in seiner Umwelt". Die Beitragenden skizzieren vielfältige Möglichkeiten der Archive, um im Informationszeitalter bestehen zu können. Wenn auch zahlreiche Herausforderungen zu meistern sind, kann optimistisch in die Zukunft geblickt werden: Archive als Bastionen zur Wahrung verlässlicher Informationen in Zeiten der Verhandelbarkeit von Faktizität." |
